Sometimes it is easier to remove an error than to find its reason

Here is what we’ve got this time:

How to Get Rid of the “Failed to Save Target Content: The Illustration <...> Was Moved Between Paragraphs” Error in Trados Studio - 2

Failed to save target content: The illustration <...> was moved between paragraphs.

The error occurs when you try generating a “clean” translated document. The message suggests that the document has undergone either source editing or segment merging and/or splitting, and such action has caused an error.

This is the situation when it is easier to remove the error than to find its reason. How to remove this error:

  • Create a new Trados Studio project using the target file of the “uncleanable” document and an empty translation memory.
  • Update this translation memory with the segments of the problematic SDLXLIFF file.
  • Pre-translate the SDLXLIFF file of the new project with this translation memory and make sure that all of its segments are translated.
  • After this, the document will be “cleaned” successfully.

The explanation is long, but all these steps are really quick to perform.
